Boy Scout Adult Leader Training

Troop 680 Adults and Pack 680 Webelos I and II Adults -- This information is slightly modified from an email I sent out in the Fall 2005. It is about Boy Scout Adult Leader Training. Especially Webelos II Leaders, but also Troop 680 Boy Scout adults (Scouters), please consider attending these courses and so please mark these on your calendar now. These courses will give you an excellent and timely introduction to the Boy Scout program. These courses provide you with excellent training so you can continue to guide your sons as they transition from the Cub Scout Webelos program to Boy Scouts. This training will be especially helpful and essential for your sons and for Troop 680 because we will need your help from the very beginning, owing in part to the large number of Scouts expected to bridge on March 24, 2006. Troop 680, like Pack 680, runs well only with a very active participation by parents. You will also receive an orientation on Saturday March 25, at our own Troop 680 "Jump Start" training which is both for Scouts and for Parents. (I recognize this conflicts with Boy Scout Leader Specific Training #3, March 24-25, listed below; we will do our best to avoid this conflict in the future.) Each of you should assume that you can help as soon as your son bridges; we expect that you will register with the troop as a Committee Member; if you already have extensive Boy Scout experience, you may register as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Read on for the training specifics, and thank you in advance for your help.
