Scouting for Food
(October 28, 29 & November 4, 2023)
In an effort to help a local food bank get ready for the approaching winter season, Troop 680 and Cub Scout Pack 680 took part in the annual national Scouting for Food (SFF) collection on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Twenty-four Scouts and eighteen adults from Troop and Pack 680 collected 371 bags of food totaling 3,781.90 lbs. from four neighborhoods and then delivered the food to the United Community Food Bank. Without the assistance of Cub Scout Pack 680 and Troop 680 Scouts, who helped put flyers on the doors the week before to remind people of the collection on the 4th, the project would not have been successful.

Support Troop 680 by Purchasing a Holiday Wreath, Spray, Centerpiece or Table Top Tree
Troop 680 is once again selling Christmas wreaths and other holiday evergreen products to support Troop operations. Funds raised through the wreath selling program support the year-round activities and equipment needs of the Troop and help reduce the costs of Scouting for Troop families. Money raised in past years has funded such things as the purchase of new tents, repairing and restocking cooking equipment, paying the camping fees for our new Scout campout in the spring, and renovations and repairs to one of our meeting spaces, Northrop Hall.
You may purchase wreaths and other holiday evergreen products online though the website of our wreath supplier, Mickman Brothers by clicking the wreath to the left or clicking here. The links will take you to Mickman Brothers' proprietary website Gift it Forward and automatically apply the Troop's fundraising code TR680VA001. If the code is not applied automatically, you can enter it manually. Your wreath purchase will ship fresh directly from Minnesota.
Please note that Troop 680 wil also be selling in-person at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on or about the last weekend in November and the first weekend in December. Prices for the in-person sales are significantly lower than online as the online price includes: an $8 flat fee commission for the Troop, FedEx delivery, an EZ wreath or spray door hanger, and the cost of planting an evergreen seedling for sustainability.
Thank you for Supporting Troop 680!
