Troop 680 welcomed seven new Scouts from Pack 680 at the Pack's crossover ceremony on March 14. Unfortunately, only one of those Scouts and another Scout who recently joined the Troop were able to attend the Troop's annual Jumpstart Campout that started right after the crossover ceremony. This year, Troop 680 returned to its regular location Prince William Forest Park and camped in site C. Despite some bad weather predictions, the rain held off and the two new Scouts who attended the campout did a great job, earning Scout rank, Totin' Chip, and Firem'n Chit. The Troop Instructor planned and led the campout and oversaw the new Scout program. He was assisted by the SPL and a great team of Scouts from all of the Troop's existing Patrols. The two Scout cooks did a great job keeping everyone fed with hamburgers, chicken kabobs, and Dutch oven pizza. A few other Scouts worked to complete some requirements as well.
